The Villarrobledo Carnival is famous and participatory and, although it celebrates and maintains activities and traditions similar to those of many other Carnivals, such as the Parades, the Murgas and Chirigotas Competition or the Entierro de la Sardina, its many unique features, such as the Carnival flea market, the Manchego Pride Night or the Wedding Contest make it unique .

For more than a week, everything in Villarrobledo is Carnival. From the people who go out in masquerade on the streets, to the shop assistants and waiters in the establishments. Any time is good for a celebration that combines the traditional parades and entierros de la sardina with unique peculiarities such as the flea markets or the Manchego Pride Night. Among the official celebrations, the Murgas and Chirigotas contest, and the Adult and Children’s parades stand out. Or las Bodas, where the marriage is parodied… of anything. But it’s the locals who make the Carnival a big deal, performing shows in the streets and squares, with their own costumes, all of which are more original than any other. The whole of Villarrobledo is, at this time of year, one big fancy dress party. The biggest in the world? Perhaps…
