Gastronomic day of Camacho’s Wedding Stew

Last weekend of November | ALCÁZAR DE SAN JUAN

In these gastronomic days are participating different establishments, in which they prepare a menu consisting of a starter with products from La Mancha and the famous Camacho’s Wedding Stew (guiso de bodas de Camacho), based on the idea that Cervantes proposes in Don Quixote, “it is served with its bread and wine, and there is no lack of dumplings or meatballs in it”. The dessert is the “bizcochá” from La Mancha, very typical of Alcázar and pastries. The price is about 14 euros.

The menu can be tasted at bars, wineries and restaurants, which every year offer the same menu, with starters of pork loin and chorizo de orza, the stew itself and desserts of bizcochá, mantecados and mistela, as well as local wine, all for the price of 14 euros each. The stew can also be found in other places and can be bought to take away or can be prepared for family gatherings, because the Guiso de las bodas de Camacho is already a dish that identifies the city.
