Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción

The most outstanding feature of the church is the vaulted transept and the high tower on the outside. It has an eclectic style, made of a combination of different influences, in particular classicism, which was the prevailing style in Spanish architecture after the last civil war.

Inside, we can find a stained glass windows at the ends of the transept, which represent Santo Tomás de Villanueva and San Juan de Ávila, and two wooden sculptures,the so-called Virgen de Villajos from the end of the 13th century, and the Cristo de la Expiración, the last one by Juan Cristóbal, a 20th-century artist. The paintings in the main altar also deserve the visitor’s attention.
