The Infanta Elena Museum of Contemporary Art opened in 2011. The museum has a surface area of 1,700 square metres distributed over 4 floors and it houses the permanent collection that the Virgen de las Viñas Cooperative has acquired over the years through the ten painting competitions it has organised, as well as occasional exhibitions.
It is considered one of the most important museums in Castilla la Mancha and offers to the visitor an extensive collection of contemporary works of art, which has been created through the International Painting Contest, a contest that was created with the help of the Fondos de Educación y Promoción de la Cooperativa-Almazara Virgen de las Vías in the year 2001. In the permanent collection located on the first two floors, you can find works by 21st-century artists of different tendencies, offering a plurality of visions of the painting of our time.
